FAQ
What if I have difficulty letting go of items?
That's completely normal. Organizing is never about forcing you to get rid of your belongings. Matthew provides guidance, encouragement, and asks practical questions to help you make decisions at your own pace. You remain in control of what stays and what goes throughout the entire process.Â
Are appointments confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is important. All appointments are handled with professionalism and discretion. Matthew respects your confidentiality, and any personal information shared during appointments is kept private in accordance with the website's Privacy Policy in our Terms & Conditions.Â
What is Body Doubling for ADHD organizing?
Body Doubling is when a person works alongside you in person, or virtually simply to help you stay focused or follow through on a task. For many people with ADHD, having someone present makes starting and sticking to projects much easier. Matthew incorporates this approach naturally during sessions when needed offering encouragement and accountability so you do not feel overwhelmed or alone during the process.Â
How much does a Professional Organizer cost in San Francisco?
Rates for professional organizers in San Francisco typically range between $75 to $150+ per hour, depending on experience and project scope. Matthew charges $74 per hour, which is more on the accessible end for the Bay Area, with no hidden fees.Â
Do I need to clean before my appointment?Â
No. Your appointment is a judgement-free space, and there is no need to tidy up beforehand. Seeing your space as it normally is helps Matthew better understand your routines and create organizing systems that work for you.Â
What if I have ADHD?
That's completely ok! Matthew was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and understands many of the challenges that can come with staying organized. Appointments are designed to provide patience, accountability, and practical systems that are easier to maintain.Â
What if I have Autism?
Everyone organizes and processes their environment differently. Matthew works collaboratively at your pace, respecting your preferences, routines, and sensory needs to create organizing systems that support your daily life.Â
Absolutely not. Every home, office, and situation is unique. Matthew's goal is to provide compassionate, respectful and confidential support - not judgement. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable asking for help.Â
Will you judge my space?
Do I need to be present during my organizing appointment?
Yes. Clients should be present during the appointment whenever possible. Since organizing involves making decisions about your belongings, your participation helps ensure that the final result reflects your preferences and goals.Â
How long does organizing usually take?
Every project is a little different. Smaller spaces may only require a single appointment, while larger more complex projects may take several sessions. During your appointment, Matthew can provide an estimate based on your goals and the scope of the project.Â
What cities do you serve?
Matthew provides organizing services throughout San Francisco and many surrounding Bay Area communities. If you are unsure whether your location is within the service area, feel free to reach out before booking.Â
Do you offer virtual appointments?
Yes. Virtual organizing sessions are available for clients who prefer remote support or who live outside the local service area. Virtual appointments include personalized guidance, planning accountability, and organizing strategies.Â
